Protein Breakfast Bowls: 5-Min Greek Yogurt & Berry Recipe

  • Author: Isabel
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A quick, no-cook breakfast bowl featuring creamy Greek yogurt, fresh or frozen berries, nuts, seeds, and a touch of honey. High in protein and fiber, this recipe takes only 5 minutes to assemble and is perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225g) plain full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 cup (150g) mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 23 tablespoons granola or chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1 tablespoon seeds (pumpkin or sunflower seeds)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Splash of milk (optional, for thinning)

Instructions

  1. Prep toppings: Wash and chop fresh fruit if using. If using frozen berries, let them thaw for 5 minutes. Chop nuts into rough pieces.
  2. Prepare the base: Scoop Greek yogurt into a serving bowl. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, stirring gently to incorporate.
  3. Add chia seeds: Stir chia seeds into the yogurt. For a pudding-like texture, let it sit for 10 minutes or overnight; otherwise, eat immediately.
  4. Add sweetener: Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the yogurt and stir to combine. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Top the bowl: Arrange berries and nuts on top of the yogurt. Sprinkle seeds and granola over everything.
  6. Serve immediately: Enjoy cold while the yogurt is fresh and toppings are crunchy.

Notes

Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the best texture and satiety. Toasting nuts beforehand enhances flavor. If the yogurt is too thick, add a splash of milk. Do not reheat this dish as it is served cold. For meal prep, store the yogurt base and dry toppings separately until ready to eat.
