Description
A quick and flavorful weeknight dinner featuring seared salmon glazed in a sweet and spicy honey Sriracha sauce, served alongside crispy sesame green beans.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon neutral oil (avocado or canola)
- Salt and black pepper
- 2–3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 pound green beans
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together Sriracha, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the sauce.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with oil. Add green beans in a single layer and cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to char.
- Toss green beans and cook for another 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. Drizzle with sesame oil, sprinkle with sesame seeds and salt, then remove to a plate.
- In the same skillet (or a second one), heat oil over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 3-4 minutes without moving to create a crust.
- Flip salmon, reduce heat to medium, and pour half of the honey Sriracha sauce over the fillets. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and glazes the fish.
- Remove salmon from pan and let rest for 1 minute until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Return green beans to the skillet with the remaining sauce, toss to coat, and serve alongside the salmon with extra sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
For a one-pan method, cook beans first, remove, cook salmon, then toss beans back in. If using frozen green beans, thaw and squeeze out all water. Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan for 2 minutes for better flavor. Reserve some sauce to drizzle fresh over the plated dish for brighter flavor.
