Easy Game Day Puppy Chow with Peanut Butter Drizzle

  • Author: Isabel
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A simple, no-cook 5-ingredient snack featuring Chex cereal coated in chocolate and peanut butter, tossed with powdered sugar, and finished with a peanut butter drizzle for the ultimate comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Chex cereal (Corn or Rice)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar)
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter (for drizzle)
  • 1 tsp milk or water (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Pour 6 cups of Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl or large plastic bag.
  2. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup peanut butter and 1 cup chocolate chips.
  3. Microwave the chocolate and peanut butter mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and fold gently until every piece is coated.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar over the coated cereal and toss thoroughly until the cereal is evenly dusted and no longer sticky.
  6. In a small microwave-safe cup, melt 2 tbsp peanut butter with 1 tsp milk or water in 15-second intervals until smooth.
  7. Transfer the melted drizzle mixture to a small ziplock bag, snip off a corner, and drizzle over the puppy chow.
  8. Spread the puppy chow on a baking sheet or plate and let cool for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
  9. Toss once more to redistribute sugar and serve.

Notes

Do not overheat the chocolate; microwave in 30-second intervals to prevent burning. Sift powdered sugar if it is clumpy. Use a large bowl to ensure enough room for tossing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Do not freeze as texture may change.
