Creamy Fall Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake: 5pm Dinner Fix

  • Author: Isabel
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 large shakes or 3 small smoothies 1x

Description

A creamy, comforting protein shake that tastes like dessert but fuels dinner. Ready in just 5 minutes with pantry staples, this shake is perfect for busy weeknights when you need a quick, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pure pumpkin puree
  • 1.5 cups plant milk or dairy milk (unsweetened almond, oat, or dairy)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 2 tablespoons nut butter (peanut or almond)
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour liquid into the blender first to help blades spin freely.
  2. Add pumpkin puree, nut butter, protein powder, and spices.
  3. Add ice on top.
  4. Blend on low to break up ice, then crank to high for 45-60 seconds until smooth and frosty.
  5. Taste and adjust consistency with more milk or ice, or sweetness with maple syrup if needed.
  6. Pour into glasses and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use 100% pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. For an extra-thick shake, freeze pumpkin puree in cubes beforehand. A pinch of salt can enhance the spice flavors. Best consumed immediately for optimal texture.
